Simone Bishop is a registered Counselling Psychologist with experience in working with individuals, couples, families and groups. Having graduated from Murdoch University in 2004, she later went on to obtain her Masters degree in Psychology from Curtin University.
In addition to private practice, Simone has worked in private psychiatric hospital settings and within the child protection field. Simone’s approach to therapy is person-centred and respectful. She places an emphasis on acceptance and working in a non-judgemental way, allowing her clients to engage fully in the therapeutic process.
Her areas of interest include: anxiety, depression, relationship and attachment issues, trauma/PTSD (including complex PTSD), chronic pain, grief and loss. Simone is passionate about women’s health and also possesses a special interest in helping people in the care and management of chronic illness, chronic pain and disease.
Simone draws her techniques from evidence-based modalities and tailors therapy to meet the individual needs of her clients. Because she understands the importance of working with the impact of past experiences on the body and nervous system, she possesses specialized training in body-oriented and neuro-biologically based trauma treatment modalities. Simone has also completed her Yoga (Hatha Vinyasa) Teacher Training, registered at 350hrs with Yoga Australia.

Simone is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and is a member of the Association of Counselling Psychologists. She is also registered for Medicare and Health Fund Rebates.
