About this service

A Dose Administration Aid (DAA), commonly known as a blister pack or Webster pack, is a pharmacist-prepared medication packaging system that organises your medications by day and time. DAAs are particularly valuable for people managing multiple medications, those with memory difficulties, or anyone who wants a simple, reliable system for ensuring medications are taken correctly.

At PDC Health Hub, our AHPRA-registered pharmacists prepare DAAs as part of our integrated medication management service, working in coordination with your GP and other treating clinicians.

Who benefits from a DAA

  • People taking 4 or more medications at different times of day
  • Older Australians managing complex medication regimens
  • People with memory difficulties or cognitive impairment
  • Carers managing medications on behalf of a family member
  • Anyone who has missed doses or taken incorrect medications in the past

What to expect

  • Initial medication review to confirm current medications, doses, and timing
  • Weekly blister packs prepared and labelled by your pharmacist
  • Each compartment clearly marked by day and time (morning, lunch, evening, night)
  • Regular review and updating as your medications change
  • Coordination with your GP when medication changes are required

Preparation tips

Bring all your current medications, prescriptions, and a list of any recent changes to your medication regimen. If a family member or carer manages your medications, their involvement in the initial setup is strongly encouraged.

DAA packing fees vary. Some NDIS, DVA, and aged care funding arrangements may cover this service. Please contact reception to confirm your eligibility. Learn more about pharmacy services at PDC Health Hub.

Common questions

Do I need a referral?
+

Most of our services can be booked without one. You do need a GP referral to claim a Medicare rebate, and a Home Medicines Review or Residential Medication Management Review always starts with a GP referral. NDIS, DVA and workers' compensation claims each have their own paperwork. If you are not sure, call us on (08) 6110 0570 and we will check before you book.

Can I claim a Medicare rebate?
+

If your GP has prepared a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan and referred you to us, Medicare pays a rebate for up to five eligible allied health visits a calendar year, shared across disciplines. Private health cover may also contribute, depending on your policy. We confirm what applies to you when you book.

Can I be seen by telehealth?
+

Many of our services can be delivered by secure video call. Where a service needs a hands-on assessment, such as a foot or physiotherapy examination, we will book you in person at one of our ten clinics.

What should I bring to my first appointment?
+

Your referral or care plan if you have one, a list of your current medicines, any recent test results, and your Medicare, DVA or NDIS details. If you use a glucose meter, CGM or insulin pump, bring that too.

Can someone come with me?
+

Yes. A family member, carer, interpreter or support worker is welcome at any appointment. If you need an interpreter, let us know when you book.
