Maxine is a Registered Endorsed Nurse Practitioner and Credentialled Diabetes Educator with over 29 years’ experience in diabetes education and management. Maxine has worked in a vast range of environments -from paediatrics to adult diabetes. Maxine's previous experience has included:

• Manager of a Paediatric Diabetes Unit in Switzerland.
• Diabetes Educator at Fremantle - Tertiary Hospital
• The Coordinator of the Rockingham Endocrinology & Diabetes Service based at Rockingham General Hospital
• Member of the Australian Diabetes Educator Association (ADEA) since 2003 and a member of the Credentialling Committee of ADEA

Currently Maxine is not only part of the team at PDC Health Hub, she also provides private diabetes education services in Waikiki at Waikiki Diabetes Private Nurse Practitioner Service.

Maxine joined the team at PDC Health Hub in 2020 to expand the services provided by PDC Health Hub to better assist people living with diabetes by providing a Diabetes in Pregnancy Service. Maxine works collaboratively with Caitlin Parker (Accredited Practising Dietitian and Credentialled Diabetes Educator) and Rachel Boen (Accredited Practising Dietitian) to provide a holistic, collaborative approach to diabetes in pregnancy.

Maxine has also authored many abstracts and articles in various journals with a wide variety of topics and provided multiple Presentations for various Pharma Companies on a wide range of topics.

• Abbott Inaugural service innovation award 2007
• Multiple case study awards
• ADEA recognition award in 2013
• Director Generals WA Health Award in 2013
• Diabetes Australia health professional of the year award 2015

Maxine is a Certified Insulin Pump Trainer for all available insulin pumps in Australia and all Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGM). Since 2002, Maxine has worked with people living with Diabetes in Pregnancy (including Gestational diabetes and Type 1 Diabetes and Pregnancy).

Maxine is a proud grandmother and her interests outside of her professional career include spending time with her grandchildren, travel, and continuing to learn more about technologies for diabetes.
