Throughout university, Devontre worked across a variety of settings - including sports, aged care, disability, and community - as a therapy assistant. After graduating, he spent five months as a physiotherapist at Therapy Focus before deciding he wanted to make an impact in the community through a different scope of practice.
Devontre has always known he wanted to make a positive difference in people's lives through healthcare. He was inspired by his dad - watching him support others gave Devontre a deep sense of purpose - as well as by his own experiences with physiotherapists growing up, which confirmed the path was right for him. He values being able to show up each day knowing he can help people work towards their goals and regain something they've lost through injury or illness, and he loves celebrating the small wins along the way, watching clients become more confident, mobile, and free.
Professionally, Devontre is most passionate about musculoskeletal physiotherapy - particularly shoulder, back, and neck pain, as well as sports injuries. Outside of work, his passions are music and volunteering.
