Alison grew up on a farm on a small island off the west coast of Scotland before moving to Perth in 2014, happily swapping the Scottish rain for Western Australian sunshine. She brings a strong clinical background to PDC Health Hub, having spent the majority of her nursing career working in acute hospital settings.
What Alison enjoys most about her work is supporting people to make living with diabetes feel a little easier. She strongly believes that diabetes is not one size fits all and values the importance of listening to, and learning from, each person’s lived experience to provide truly individualised care.
Outside of work, Allison enjoys walking her cavoodle, Lubo, attending reformer Pilates, spending time with her three daughters, and catching up with friends over a spicy margarita (or two).
The best piece of advice Allison has ever received is:
“Highs and lows are part of everyday life - blood sugars just like to be a bit more dramatic about it.”
