What it means

CDEs come from a range of professions, including nursing, pharmacy, dietetics, exercise physiology, podiatry, physiotherapy and medicine. They complete a diploma or certificate in Diabetes Education, ADEA's Credentialling Program and must keep up ongoing professional development to keep the credential.

A CDE helps you understand diabetes and put it into practice: monitoring, medicines and insulin, diabetes technology, sick days, hypoglycaemia and everyday life. CDEs can register you with the NDSS. CDE status is recognised by Medicare, DVA, the NDSS and some private health insurers.

At PDC Health Hub
Diabetes education at PDC Health Hub is delivered by Credentialled Diabetes Educators.
