AUSDRISK

AUSDRISK, the Australian Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment Tool, is a short questionnaire that estimates your chance of developing type 2 diabetes in the next five years.

Also called
Australian Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment Tool, diabetes risk test, diabetes risk score, type 2 diabetes risk assessment

What it means

It asks about age, sex, background and country of birth, family history, past high glucose, blood pressure medicines, smoking, diet, physical activity and waist measurement.

A score of 5 or less is low risk, 6 to 11 is intermediate risk, and 12 or more is high risk. A high score can also point to undiagnosed type 2 diabetes, so the next step is a blood test arranged by your GP. The tool can overestimate risk in people under 25.

At PDC Health Hub
PDC Health Hub uses AUSDRISK in its diabetes risk assessments and health screening.
