Common questions about the NDIS at PDC Health Hub

Plain answers about using your plan with us. Your support coordinator or plan manager can confirm what your own plan includes.

Can my NDIS plan pay for diabetes education, dietetics or podiatry?
+

It can when the support relates to the functional impact of your disability. The NDIS supports list includes disability-related health supports for diabetes, nutrition and foot care on that basis. Care whose main purpose is treating a health condition is funded through Medicare and the health system instead. If a service is not in your plan, we can talk you through Medicare, DVA and private health options.

Does the NDIS pay for my medicines?
+

No. The NDIS does not fund prescription or over the counter medicines; they are supplied through the PBS in the usual way. Our pharmacists can still help you and your support workers with medicines advice, dose administration aids and NDSS supplies.

I self-manage my plan. How do I get the money back?
+

Pay at your appointment, then make a payment request through the my NDIS app or your participant portal. The NDIA says reimbursements usually reach your bank account within two business days. If you would rather not pay first, ask us for an invoice, claim it and pay us from those funds.

Do I need a service agreement?
+

Not in most cases. The NDIS recommends a written service agreement whenever you start with a new provider, and only requires one for specialist disability accommodation. We will go through one with you so the supports, prices and cancellation terms are clear from the start.

Can I see you if my plan is NDIA-managed?
+

Yes. NDIA-managed funding can only be used with registered NDIS providers, and PDC Health Hub is one. We claim from your plan after each appointment, so there is nothing to pay on the day. Bring your NDIS number and confirm your plan details when you book.
