This is bought once rather than sent on a delivery schedule, so there is no repeat delivery to choose. Add it to your cart on its own or with the rest of your order.
The X-Glide Contoured Carbon Fibre Foot Plate is a thin, lightweight plate that sits in your shoe under the insole. It limits how much the shoe bends, to take pressure off the joints at the ball of the foot and the toes.
The maker lists Morton's toe, hallux limitus, hallux rigidus, Lisfranc injuries, midfoot arthritis and forefoot trauma such as a sprained toe.
Sold as a single plate, not a pair. Fit it under a padded insole or your custom orthotic. The plate should be no longer than the insole already in your shoe.
Our PDC Health Hub podiatrists can check whether a carbon plate suits your feet and shoes. They can also choose the size and fit it. If you live with diabetes or have foot problems, have your footwear checked by a podiatrist before you start wearing it.
A private purchase. Some private health insurance extras policies may contribute, so check with your fund.
Do I need two?
Only if both feet need one. Plates are sold singly and fit either foot.
Flexible or rigid?
This is the flexible plate. Your podiatrist can advise if a stiffer plate would suit you better.
Always read the label and follow the directions for use.
Other supplies you can add to the same order.
PDC Health Hub is an NADC accredited Secondary Diabetes Centre in East Victoria Park. The clinicians who supply your consumables can also help you get more out of them, whether that is a pump review, a foot check or working out how food and activity fit around your glucose levels.
