This is bought once rather than sent on a delivery schedule, so there is no repeat delivery to choose. Add it to your cart on its own or with the rest of your order.
A sharps container for the safe collection of used pen needles, lancets and syringes. Sizes range from a small round container for your kit bag to a 17 L container for clinics.
Put sharps straight into the container after use. Do not overfill it, and close the lid tightly once it is full. Do not reuse a full container.
WA Health suggests using a needle and syringe program or a sharps disposal unit provided by some local governments. Never put sharps in recycling or green waste bins, or flush them down the toilet. Check with your local council for options near you.
Our diabetes educators can show you safe injection technique and how to manage used needles at home.
A private purchase.
Which size do I need?
For pen needles and lancets at home, a 750 mL to 3 L container suits most people. Add a small one for your bag.
Can I use an empty drink bottle instead?
WA Health advises a rigid, puncture-resistant plastic container with a screw top, not glass or thin metal. A purpose-made sharps container is the simplest choice.
Always read the label and follow the directions for use.

PDC Health Hub is an NADC accredited Secondary Diabetes Centre in East Victoria Park. The clinicians who supply your consumables can also help you get more out of them, whether that is a pump review, a foot check or working out how food and activity fit around your glucose levels.
