BD Ultra-Fine insulin syringes in a box of 10, for people living with diabetes who draw up insulin from a vial. Each syringe is sterile, single use and has the needle attached.

Choosing a syringe

Choose the size your doctor or diabetes educator has recommended. ADEA injection technique guidance (2019) suggests a 0.3mL syringe for doses under 30 units and 0.5mL for under 50 units. Our Credentialled Diabetes Educators can help you choose, and can show you how to draw up and inject insulin, in person or by telehealth.

How to use

Use a new syringe for each injection, and put it straight into an approved sharps container after use. Do not share syringes.

The 10 pack is a private purchase. For people registered with the NDSS, boxes of 100 are listed separately in our shop.

Questions

Can I reuse a syringe?
No. ADEA guidance notes syringes lose sterility after one use and the needle can bend, block or break.

Why does my box say embecta?
BD Diabetes Care is now embecta. The product is the same in new packaging.
