Strength For Life (Formerly known as Living Longer Living Stronger)

Formerly known as Living Longer Living Stronger (LLLS). Individually prescribed exercise programs run in a group setting. Focuses on progressive strength training and balance to encourage a healthy ageing process. Strength got Life is a Group fitness class for over 50's focused on building STRENGTH and BALANCE to promote HEALTHY and INDEPEPNDENT AGEING.

What is Strength For Life?

A Strength-based training program designed to improve the quality of life for people over 50. It was designed by sport scientists to build muscle, improve balance and reduce the effects of chronic illness.

Strength exercises can help fight heart disease, stroke, dementia, diabetes and cancer, it can also help with pain management and falls prevention.

The program has been running for over 15 years and helps over 4000 older people each year in WA. The Tier 1 program is run by an Exercise Physiologist or Physiotherapist who are trained to assist those with chronic medical conditions.

Each participant performs an exercise program specifcally designed by the exercise physiologist to meet their health and fitness goals. The class utilises a combination of progressive strength training, aerobic fitness, flexibility and balance exercises. Stength for Life also includes quarterley (3 monthly) social events and encouragement of post exercise group coffee to promote social intercation, build relationships, network, build a feeling of community and decrease feelings of lonliness.
